autographs/large/85092.jpg Johnny Cash Lists His Favorite Songs in His Own Hand
Certainly one of the most important and significant pieces of Johnny Cash memorabilia we've ever offered! On his own stationery and in his own hand, Johnny Cash writes down his “Favorite Song of Cash & House of Cash JC Compositions." (House of Cash and Song of Cash were his publishing companies). Cash lists the favorites in two separate columns: Greatest Hits and Gospel. Under Greatest Hits, he lists: "Delia's Gone, Ragged Old Flag, San Quentin, Water from the Wells (of Home), What Is Truth, Big River, Folsom Prison (Blues), I Walk the Line, Give My Love to Rose, Come In Stranger, Cry Cry Cry, Get Rhythm, Hey Porter, Home of the Blues, Mean Eyed Cat, Rock & Roll Ruby, So Doggone Lonesome, Train of Love”. Under Gospel he lists Half a Mile a Day, I See Me as Trees Walking, Over the Next Hill, The Preacher Said (Jesus Said), What is Truth, Wings in the Morning, What Is Man, When He Comes, Matthew 24, My Children Walk in Truth, One of these Days".paul"ť. This list represents most of Cash's most famous compositions; to be able to have these titles, written in his own hand and chosen as his favorites is almost beyond belief. The ultimate Cash handwritten document! In nice condition.
